The first of a series of early screencaps for my visual novel, Hearts Under Blades.
One of our main goals with this game is to make it as interactive as possible, and that starts right at the beginning. Your first dialogue choice is literally the second line in the game!
Note: as mentioned in the journal, much of the user interface has not yet been customized, and the second shot is an example of that. While the choice buttons look just fine, they don't quite match the look of the game, so they are one of the elements that will be changed before the demo is released.

Game Promo Day! Early ScreenshotsI took a poll, and it seems like people are most interested in seeing screenshots next! Here are a few exemplifying the sort of art style and presentation we're going for.
These shots are from our "alpha" version of the game. We are working on getting all the elements essential to gameplay in place first; namely the dialogue and the graphics. We plan to add some menu buttons below the text box, and further customize the user interface and in-game menus. Even with the default options, a large section of the demo is already playable and looking good! The majority of the graphics for the demo are ready, and we should be adding more scenes of dialogue this coming week, as well as music and sound effects. It's very exciting to see it all coming together!

Oh. The Otori crest looks different as well. It kind of looks more like a chicken now tho
XD That's the Japanese phoenix for you! The crest was taken from a public domain library of real Japanese crests, and is actually the least chicken-like one I could find. ^_^;
Oo, I wants that library XD
I know it's a phoenix. It still looks like a chicken.
