Artist's Comments

My most recent Elric piece. I colored this with Prismacolor markers, and I'm so pleased with how it turned out. ^_^ Unfortunately the scan made the colors a little odd, so I tweaked it the best I could... it looks okay. I may go back later in Photoshop and add a background and some glowing runes on Stormbringer. (Stormbringer is Elric's soul-devouring sword, for those who don't know).

Markers just take practice... I'm still getting used to them, especially the shading. I just practice all the time, even in my sketchbook.

I like the sorta asymmetric design bits of it *3* It is one big evil sword oh yesh!
Funny thing is, whenver I draw Elric I happen to draw Stormbringer different XD; I can never stick to one design @@;

I must have drawn Stormbringer 20 different ways before deciding on that design... There was a way more complicated version I liked a bit more, but I kept having to simplify it for animation.

I like the idea of it always looking different... it makes it seem more like an entity than an object.

They're so worth reading again, aren't they? Especially if you've read other books in the Multiverse since reading the Elric saga.
