Sailor Labyrinth Poster by ArtistMeli Sailor Labyrinth Poster by ArtistMeli
I had a LOT of trouble with the layout of this piece:

This is one of the ones I liked, but didn't feel like it showed off the work I did on the figures enough. However, I spent a TON of time on the logos, so I'm posting it. XD

The pose is referenced from this classic shot of Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask: [link]
Background stock: [link]
Sparkles brush from *redheadstock
Sailor Moon logo: [link]
Labyrinth Logo was googled.

Raise your hand if you think should have happened in canon.

It's interesting because a lot of the promotional art for the movie is Jareth with his arms around Sarah. But that was only hinted at in the movie. I think it was ultimately a good decision, because without *too* much of a romance the movie has more appeal toward a wider audience. Too much of a love story, and you alienate the younger audience. As much as I think it would be awesome now, I probably wouldn't have watched the movie so much as a kid if there had been too many "kissing scenes." ^^;

Too much of a love story and you alienate the male demographic too. I think they should remake the Labyrinth or at least do a sequel revolving around the love story aspect of it. Like what happens AFTER Sarah defeated the Labyrinth? What exactly does it entail for Jareth and the Labyrinth itself? There are a lot of questions gone unanswered.

That would be awesome. I was hoping for more of that with the Return to Labyrinth manga... that manga was such a disappointment. :P

I know. Why did they have to suddenly make Jareth and Toby both gay? Toby, I can see because he was only a baby in the original so his sexuality wasn't exactly established yet. But Jareth was because it was very clear who his love interest was. Maybe he showed it in strange ways, but we knew, we could tell that he wanted Sarah bad. I'm not against homosexuality, and certainly not against it in the media, but only when it makes sense for the characters it's applied to. You can't just decide out of the blue to make a character, who was already established to like women, gay. Return to Labyrinth seemed more like bad fanfiction than an actual sequel.

Completely agreed! And what was up with Jareth's origin story?? He was just some all-powerful guy universe-hopping? I didn't catch it at the time because I hadn't watched much of it, but it's way too Doctor Who. Where did he come from? Why was he so damn powerful? Was he a runaway god? If so, why did he settle for ruling a bunch of goblins??? I expected a story about how he'd been kidnapped as a child by the previous Goblin King, who was also a human, and raised to be king. Maybe the goblins always had a human king because they weren't smart enough to rule themselves. And that's why he kidnapped Toby and named him heir (not to mention hoping he'd get himself a wife in the process). Anyway, the whole story was just so *weird*, and they were all so out of character.

There's a story on fanfiction.net that I think SHOULD be the official sequel and as far as I'm concerned no other story comes close. It's called Crystal Balls and it actually touches on the gov't that rules the world of the Fae and Jareth is classified as a Fae. Which makes more sense. It says WHY he ruled the Goblins (his mischievousness matched their own, so the Centaur Council felt that making him charge of the Goblins would keep him in check). It's a lot more enjoyable and it doesn't make Karen (stepmother) into Cinderella's Stepmother.
