Take away a Dhampir's weapons, and you really leave him no choice. My character Vehran finishes off the wizard Lyrie in Pathfinder's Rise of the Runelords adventure path, and his companions finally learn the truth about him.
This piece really says a lot about me. It says, I really love linework. It says, I can paint my own backgrounds now, and use textures as an enhancement rather than a crutch. It says, I finally GET lighting. And it says, I play too many RPGs. ^_^;
Referenced Lyrie from her original design here: [link] (the party looted her cloak in an earlier fight). Wood texture from cgtextures.com.
I actually didn't use any pose reference; the only thing I referenced was the NPC's design. Which is probably why the male character's legs are three miles long. ^_^; Oh well, the light breaks them up so it's not too obvious.
Wow, thanks! I used to do this sort of line art all the time with real pens on real paper, but I stopped when I got more into digital... it's really difficult to replicate without being able to draw right on the image. Then I realized I hadn't tried it since I got SAI, so I gave it a shot. Still pretty difficult, but much less so than in Photoshop!
I like the line like that once in a while when I feel like it, and indeed doing it digitally is quite a bit more challenging than on paper. But I guess I'll leave all of that to you pros out there
